What the observation codes actually mean.
Danger present
Risk of injury. Immediate action required — we make the installation safe on the spot and notify you the same day.
Potentially dangerous
Urgent remedial work needed. A C2 renders the installation unsatisfactory and must be resolved to pass.
Improvement recommended
Not dangerous and doesn't fail the report, but bringing it up to the current standard is advisable.
From enquiry to certificate in four steps.

Straight answers before you book.
Can't see what you need? Call 0330 043 8871 and speak to a qualified engineer, not a call centre.
Ask a questionHow long is an EICR valid for?
For rented domestic properties, a maximum of five years (or sooner if the report specifies). Owner-occupied homes are recommended every ten years, and commercial premises typically every five.
Do you carry out the remedial work too?
Yes. Because our engineers are directly employed and fully qualified, we can correct C1 and C2 observations and re-issue a satisfactory certificate — no need to bring in a second contractor.
Will the power be off during testing?
Parts of the installation are isolated circuit-by-circuit for short periods. A full domestic test takes 2–4 hours; we plan commercial jobs out-of-hours to avoid disruption.
What happens if the property fails?
An “unsatisfactory” result simply means C1 or C2 items were found. You receive an itemised, fixed-price quote to resolve them — there's never an obligation to use us for the repairs.
Do you cover my area?
We cover all 33 London boroughs plus Hertfordshire, Essex, Kent, Surrey, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire. See our service areas or enter your postcode when booking to confirm the next available slot.
